Valentine's Hand-Painted Christmas Ornaments are a Hit!

Thanksgiving Weekend  on Martha's Vineyard!!!  

The crowds were huge on Friday, opening day of the MV Artisans Festival.  I showed my abstract water paintings but it was my painted ornaments that sold big.  I have more bulbs available in my West Tisbury art studio.  If you would like to buy an ornament ($10 each, six for $50), please contact me at vineyard.artist@gmail.com

Two-Day Plein Air Workshop September 13 & 14 on Martha's Vineyard

Tomorrow I will teach my first plein-air class.  We will be working for two days ( at the same time of each day....of course) on Lamberts Cove.  We will discuss composition, perspective and the fun of creating a painting within the two hour limit provided by the sun.

Valentine of Martha's Vineyard is creating a Website

The website is coming along....bit by bit.  It's a steep learning curve for me, but with the help of classes from Susan Lomuto (Teaching Art On-Line) I hope to publish the valestabrook.com website this July.  The site will offer a gallery of my paintings, schedule of my art shows on Martha's Vineyard and dates of my first ever plein-air classes.  Two-day plein-air workshops will be offered in July and my four week on-line plein-air course will begin in September.  Details to follow.

Martha's Vineyard Begins a New Summer Season

Paintings by Valentine, that's me, are currently being shown at Featherstone Center for the Arts and my Vineyard studio.  Upcoming events include a July 20 show at the Dock Side Inn and a couple big weekends at the MV Artisans Festival.  I'll be showing several new paintings, big paintings, as well as a series of pastels on sanded paper.
